US-based cybersecurity company, Trellix, formerly FireEye and McAfee Enterprise, has hired Kim Anstett as its new chief information officer (CIO).

In her new role, Anstett will lead Trellix’s global information and technology systems organisation, which focuses on enterprise extended detection and response (XDR) architecture. XDR offers greater visibility and context into threats, events that would have not been addressed otherwise, allowing security teams to quickly focus and eliminate any further impact and reduce the severity and scope of the attack.

The California-based company also said that Anstett will head the overall execution of technology strategy to drive efficiency, flexibility and innovation across the business. Anstett's services started on Friday and she will report to CEO Bryan Palma.

With more than 25 years industry experience, Anstett was most recently executive vice president and chief technology officer at Iron Mountain, an information management services firm, based in Boston, where she has led teams across product development and innovation. She also had a stint as CIO at Nielsen, focused on customer value and better cybersecurity outcomes.

In July 2022, Trellix has appointed another senior technology executive Vicki Batka to lead the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) business as Senior Vice President. Batka joined Trellix from Cisco, where she was working as vice president of partner sales in Asia Pacific, Japan and China.

“My number one priority as CIO is to deliver insights to our business to serve our customers. Second is furthering diversity, equity, inclusion and development for my teams,” said Anstett,  adding that she is “motivated by people, process and technology” where she sees a lot of alignment with Trellix’s ethos as a home for soulful work.”

“Kim has a proven record of building high-performing IT organisations. No doubt she will do the same at Trellix while also serving as our “customer zero” for our market-leading products,” Bryan Palma, CEO of Trellix, commented on her appointment.

Anstett holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from Tufts University and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Quotient Technology.
