SunTec is predominantly into the banking and financial services domain. We are primarily a software product company. We are also present in other domains including telecom, travel, Insurance and rest of the financial areas. We focus on transaction processing, relationship banking, pricing, billing and GCC Countries VAT Solutions.

Suntech being in the banking and financial service space security is at the top of the agenda.  The issue that we have off late is on the hybrid mode of working on account of the post covid scenario. We are now three days in the office and three days at home this is a hybrid kind of an arrangement. When obviously user work from home security is of utmost concern as how well the endpoints are protected.  Earlier when we were within the office totally, we didn’t have too much of a problem because we needed to only safeguard the premises. 

When we embarked on this journey to strengthen our security portfolio this could be split into two like one is the perimeter security and the second is the end point security. This is a twofold kind of a problem wherein we need to have one solution that perfectly fits in.

This posed a lot of challenges for us that’s when we were looking at different options, different OEMS and different products and different solutions.

Data leakage is one, the endpoint security, the Firewall capabilities, including the VPN capabilities, then we have the Wi-fi within the office so the security of the wi-fi system needs to be strengthened, the wi-fi controller also had to be built in so we needed one box that will actually serve all this purpose. So when we looked at that Fortinet was perfectly fitting all requirements and that is the reason why we adopted Fortinet. 

We have been using Fortinet for quite some time now. We never had any glaring security incident as such. Any alerts that used to come in has been perfectly handled by the system. There was no criticality or any business loss on account of security. Everyone is quite happy with the systems that has been deployed. Because it is quite easily configurable.
