Mumbai-based mapping solutions company Genesys International has appointed Sameer Sankhe as its new chief digital officer (CDO). Sankhe was previously the India head of digital transformation consulting at Salesforce. He has also worked as the head of digital transformation at Tata Projects where he was responsible for the digital transformation of infrastructure projects, telematics, smart cities, and Internet of Things (IoT)-based water distribution networks under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

According to Genesys, Sankhe will handle the digitisation of the company’s existing business along with the development of new products such as a 3D digital twin and an API-driven revenue stream for Indian and global customers.

Sajid Malik, managing director of Genesys pointed out that Sankhe is well-versed in building tech-enabled businesses from the ground up and managing large-scale digital transformation projects.

“Genesys is assembling a critical component of the nation's digital infrastructure, and I am very excited to join the company's mission as CDO. For locational intelligence, India needs to catch up with data and accuracy to help businesses build operational efficiencies and better decision-making aid. We aspire to be the leading tech company in this space globally,” Sankhe said in a statement.

Genesys is working on several mapping-related projects for global tech companies and government bodies. For instance, early this week, Genesys bagged a contract worth ₹46 crore from the Andhra Pradesh government to digitise 30,000 square kilometers of land records.
