Accenture joins hands with Google Cloud to help retailers modernise their business

Accenture’s ai.RETAIL platform can now be deployed on Google Cloud as the two companies extend their strategic partnership. An integrated solution for retailers, ai.RETAIL offers artificial intelligence-based capabilities for retailers to optimise customer acquisition, pricing and promotion, assortment, and supply chain. As part of the deal, the platform will be integrated with multiple Google Cloud services and capabilities.

“Through our work with Accenture, retailers can quickly adopt integrated solutions that apply the best of Google Cloud technology and deliver the true benefits of AI and ML, with tools and capabilities that allow them to continuously optimise their business for today’s complex retail environment,” said Carrie Tharp, vice president of retail and consumer, Google Cloud.

This partnership will help customers better organise their data and provide real-time view of their most critical supply chain metrics, including procurement, logistics, inventory, and sales. Retailers will be able to run demand forecasting, improve inventory planning, and develop strategies for supply chain segmentation. Further, ai.RETAIL will leverage Google Cloud’s Discover AI solutions to deliver personalised recommendations at scale and help shoppers find products using images.

With Google Cloud’s services like BigQuery, Looker, and Vertex AI, users of ai.RETAIL platform can access store clustering capabilities to identify, group, and optimise stores with similar characteristics. Retailers will get recommendations on whether to maintain, reduce, or drop specific products – filtered by individual stores or store clusters.

“With the best of Accenture’s integrated ai.RETAIL platform and Google Cloud technology, companies can now access products and capabilities to help improve consumer engagement and conversions and make their supply chain more sustainable,” said Jill Standish, a senior managing director at Accenture who leads its Retail industry practice. 

The Google Cloud-Accenture partnership will also help retailers modernise fundamental components of their business, and optimise their customer, workforce, and storefront experiences.
