Infosys partners with Microsoft to help businesses with cloud transformation

India’s second largest IT services provider Infosys has collaborated with Microsoft, to help enterprises with cloud transformation globally. The companies aim to empower enterprises to build cloud-powered platforms and innovations at scale with the collaboration, Infosys said in a statement. 

In its Cloud Radar report 2022, Infosys said that enterprises can add up to $414 billion in net new profits, annually, through effective cloud adoption. The report also calculated that adopting cloud improved speed to market and the ability to discover new revenue streams and resulted in increased profit growth by up to 11.2% YoY.  

The two companies have a long-standing collaboration for over two decades. “The extended strategic collaboration between Infosys and Microsoft will greatly benefit enterprises by bringing them the best of Infosys Cobalt cloud offerings and Microsoft’s cloud computing technologies, led by Azure, across the business value-chain,” the Infosys statement said.

Infosys introduced Cobalt in 2020, a set of services, solutions, and platforms to help businesses redesign the enterprise, and also build new cloud-first capabilities to create seamless experiences in public, private and hybrid cloud landscapes.  

The engagement will also help in improving the overall employee experience and productivity, as Infosys Cobalt solutions and Microsoft technologies. According to Anand Swaminathan, executive vice president, Infosys, “by embracing Microsoft technologies, it is already helping “over 300,000 Infosys employees” with hyper-personalised experiences with the help of an experiential app, which is made available across devices and serves as a hub for information and actions. 

“As we continue to shape the future of the industry cloud, we are pleased to bring together our complementary strengths and serve our strategic customers better through Microsoft Azure-powered solutions with Infosys Cobalt,” Anant Maheshwari, president, Microsoft India said.

As cloud sales witnessed a significant increase for major players such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, market research firm Gartner in a report published in October 2022, expects global spending on public cloud services to grow nearly 21% to total $591.8 billion in 2023, up from $490.3 billion in 2022. 

This is higher than the 18.8% growth forecast it had for last year. “Cloud migration is not stopping,” said Sid Nag, vice president and analyst at Gartner, in a statement, adding that “cloud computing will continue to be a bastion of safety and innovation, supporting growth during uncertain times due to its agile, elastic and scalable nature”.
