GlobalLogic promotes Piyush Jha to the position of MD, head of India and APAC

US-based digital engineering company GlobalLogic Inc. on Thursday announced the appointment and role change of Piyush Jha to the position of Managing Director and Head of India and APAC. This new role was previously held by Sumit Sood, who has now been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for GlobalLogic. 

A founding member of GlobalLogic, Jha was most recently senior vice president- strategy and technology in the APAC region. “With a strong focus on innovation, customer centricity, and employee development, I am confident that we can continue to grow exponentially and provide exceptional value to our clients,” he said in a statement. 

With more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Sood will be responsible for overseeing several key areas, including Global Delivery, TAG and Learning, IT, and global operations for the company in his new position as COO. Jha also has over two decades of experience in leading global teams and driving strategy for the Indian market while keeping up with the latest technological advancements. Since the company’s inception in 2004, he has played a pivotal role in building and leading teams of top technologists across APAC to drive innovation and digital transformation for businesses, globally. Additionally, he has also been responsible for establishing the design labs at GlobalLogic and managing design and technology as well as delivery teams spread across the globe. 

A B.Tech and M. Tech in computer science and mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Jha’s LinkedIn profile states that he has worked closely with Fortune 500 companies to co-create their business transformation journeys through the newest technology. He also runs large teams and built ‘innovative products to scale. Jha is also an active member on Forbes Technology Council and IT body Nasscom and mentor a few new age digital startups. 

In October last year, the company promoted its then COO and long-time executive Nitesh Banga as new President and CEO.
