Pune-headquartered digital engineering firm Persistent Systems inaugurated a centre of excellence in Kolkata on Tuesday. The new CoE for emerging technologies and software engineering will ‘attract top-notch talent’ from West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and North-Eastern states, the company said in a statement. The company has, however, not disclosed how many employees will be hired for the new facility.

The CoE will be developing software products and digital assets for clients to tap into emerging technologies. “Kolkata is India’s intellectual and cultural hub and is one of the fastest-growing IT centres in India. We are truly delighted to add this city to our existing network of global talent hotspots,” said Anand Deshpande, chairman and managing director, Persistent Systems.
