Information technology (IT) services company Tech Mahindra has partnered with quantum computing solutions provider Multiverse Computing to develop a go-to strategy for serving customers across sectors like finance, healthcare, and manufacturing. The two companies will co-innovate and develop quantum technology-based solutions, and share pitch books and collaterals with end-customer to enhance understanding.

Spain-headquartered Multiverse Computing will deliver its quantum computing software to Tech Mahindra’s global customers, while also enhancing its expertise in the field. Multiverse Computing will work with Tech Mahindra’s sales team to demonstrate how its Singularity product can be customised and implemented for customers. Singularity is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform by Multiverse Computing that contains quantum and quantum-based algorithms.

“Tech Mahindra understands the challenges that customers in every sector are facing, and they see the potential and new opportunities that quantum computing brings. We will combine their technical and customer knowledge with our quantum software expertise to solve difficult business problems,” said Enrique Lizaso Olmos, chief executive officer and co-founder of Multiverse Computing.

To be sure, Tech Mahindra has a global network of Makers Lab with different deep tech focus. For instance, a lab in Dallas focuses on artificial intelligence and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), while the one in Ipswich, UK works in quantum computing and network domain. On partnership with Multiverse Computing, Nikhil Malhotra, the global head of Makers Lab said that the partnership stands on the principle of using ‘quantum-inspired’ algorithms to make AI perform better. “While Multiverse Computing brings with itself the depth of algorithmic computing, Tech Mahindra’s Makers Lab brings with it the fundamental and translation research of applying the same to businesses and their problems.”

On August 7, Tech Mahindra announced the appointment of Atul Soneja to the post of chief operating officer. “My vision is to continue the momentum that Tech Mahindra has by leveraging next-gen technologies,” said Soneja on his appointment.
