Barco elevates tech veteran Rajeeva Lochan Sharma to India MD

Belgium-based technology firm, Barco which develops networked visualisation solutions for the entertainment, enterprise, and healthcare markets, on Thursday, promoted Rajeeva Lochan Sharma as the managing director of Barco India.

Sharma, who has over two decades of professional experience in technology and business side, succeeds Rajiv Bhalla who decided to move on from Barco after successfully growing the India footprint for the company over a period of seven years.

Sharma joined Barco in April 2001 as head of quality assurance and went on to become director and senior director operations. In his most recent role at Barco, Sharma worked as vice president operations and special projects of Barco India, leading many strategic initiatives in Barco like business development of Smart Cities, in country for country initiatives by launching many country-specific products apart from leading manufacturing operations.

Prior to working with Barco, he served at telecom company Bharti Airtel and Indian electronics and home appliances manufacturing company Onida in managerial positions.

Desender further highlighted Rajiv Bhalla’s immense contribution to Barco’s business growth in India and for building a high-trust, high-performance workplace culture which resulted in Barco India being recognized as a Great Place to work for 3 years”.

An engineer from the College Of Technology, Govind Ballabh Pant University, Pantnagar, Sharma also pursued management and leadership programme from TIAS School for Business and Society and China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).

On his new position, Sharma said, he is “excited to leverage the frugal innovation and software capabilities of our teams in India for global good for the company”.
