IT services and consulting company, Tech Mahindra, on Thursday, announced a partnership with Anyverse, a Spanish deep-tech company that develops computer vision-based solutions for autonomous applications, to develop autonomous tech for automotive industry. The partnership will focus on accelerating AI adoption in the automotive industry by simplifying the use of synthetic data to train, test, and validate AI systems.

As part of the partnership, Tech Mahindra will use Anyverse's platform to provide synthetic data sets to train, validate, and fine-tune its global automotive customers' AI systems. It will focus on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), in-cabin systems, and autonomous vehicle (AV) applications. This will help accelerate AI adoption and software validation timelines by 30-40%, the company said in a statement. 

“The automotive industry is at the cusp of a major transformation, and Software-defined vehicles (SDVs) will be at the forefront of this change. SDVs are set to revolutionise the industry, necessitating an increased focus on CASE (Connected Autonomous Shared Electric) capabilities,” Narasimham RV, Global Head – Integrated Engineering Services, Tech Mahindra said in a statement.

He added, our partnership with Anyverse has a significant role in fast-tracking the autonomous journey of our automotive customers to enable the future of mobility solutions.”

This partnership with Anyverse is in line with Tech Mahindra’s focus on digital growth, under the NXT.NOWTM framework, which aims to enhance ‘Human Centric Experience’, Tech Mahindra focuses on investing in emerging technologies and solutions that enable digital transformation and meet the evolving needs of the customer.

According to a research report published in January 2023 by consulting firm McKinsey, by 2035, autonomous driving could create $300 billion to $400 billion in revenue. The automotive industry has been undergoing a transformative shift in recent years, with the integration of AI technologies playing a pivotal role in reshaping the sector. AI has found applications in various aspects of the automotive ecosystem, including manufacturing, design, driver assistance, autonomous driving, predictive maintenance, and more, the report said.

As a result, the automotive AI market has been experiencing significant growth, and its trajectory is expected to continue in the coming years.
