More than half or nearly 51% of Indians believe Artificial Intelligence (AI) can make their work lives more productive, according to a new survey by PwC. This optimism, however, is rooted in the hope that their workplaces will provide the right opportunities to learn new skills, as per the 'India Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey 2023’.

PwC's Anumeha Singh points out that employees today want more than just a good salary. They seek job satisfaction, growth opportunities, and a work environment that adapts to change. Singh suggests that for businesses to thrive, leaders need to make smart choices in shaping flexible work structures and career paths.

The survey found that 62% of Indian employees expect their job requirements to change in the next five years, and 69% already know how they'll need to upskill. What's encouraging is that Indians are 15% more confident than global peers that their employers will support them in gaining the necessary skills.
