The week of December 16-22 saw only a handful CXO movements in the technology industry. While companies such as Synchron and Kapture CX announced appointments in key business positions, non-technology companies like Orkla India and Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals also made important new announcements in their technology leadership teams. Orkla India appoints Suniana Calapa to lead IT and finance 

Orkla India, a portfolio company of Norwegian industrial investment firm Orkla ASA, announced the appointment of Suniana Calapa as director of information technology (IT) and finance. Calapa brings a wealth of experience in leading businesses, specialising in financial planning, controllership, analysis, and audit. With over two decades of experience she is now taking on the reins of finance and IT functions at Orkla India. Calapa had earlier worked in executive positions at Metro Wholesale India, J.P. Morgan, Kshema Technologies, Patni Computer Systems, and KPMG. (Read more

Founders Saket Dandotia, Alok Patil quit VideoVerse to start their own AI startup 

Saket Dandotia and Alok Patil co-founders of VideoVerse, the maker of Magnifi — an AI-powered video editing solution, announced their exit from VideoVerse. The duo has now launched a new generative artificial intelligence (AI) startup, Onetab. According to them, Onetab is poised to offer competitive services in the space of AI-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions and will provide seamless communication and collaboration with its proprietary custom large language model (LLM), and is designed to revolutionise the way teams interact and work together. The serial entrepreneurs have partnered with Sonal Dandotia for Onetab, who has been closely associated with them in their prior entrepreneurial ventures and brings her expertise of operations and financials to Onetab. Shweta Srivastava joins Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals as Head-IT

Shweta Srivastava has joined Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited as head of information technology. She joins from JK Cement where she served as Head IT Applications and was responsible for driving change and business Transformation in the IT applications landscape by delivery and maintenance of go-to-market applications. Shweta has over 20 years of experience in technology roadmap planning, product engineering ownership, cloud computing, and compliance management, has worked with leading brands, including Paul Merchants Finance, Safexpress, Fortis Hospitals, Sahara Hospital and Convergence Technologies. 

Syncron appoints Sean O'Neill as chief product and technology officer  

IT services company Synchron has appointed Sean O'Neill as chief product and technology officer. As CPTO, O'Neill's mission is to unify all Syncron solutions as a completely integrated set of capabilities for OEMs to manage their equipment-related service businesses in a fully connected way, enhancing end-customer services. O'Neill brings over 25 years of experience at the intersection of customer needs, technology and business impact. Before joining Syncron, O'Neill was chief product officer at GfK, where he was instrumental in launching its AI-powered intelligence platform. He has also worked at Amazon, Tesco and various technology startups, generating significant enterprise value across the global technology, consumer and retail sectors.

Kapture CX elevates Himanshu Garg as CTO  

Kapture CX, a SaaS-based customer experience platform, has announced the elevation of Himanshu Garg, the Senior Vice President of Engineering, to the esteemed role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Garg, who joined the company in May, brings a wealth of experience and technical expertise to this pivotal leadership position. He has more than 16 years of experience in the travel, e-commerce, and SaaS domains. He was CTO at Via.com, and was instrumental in the acquisition of Via.com by Ebix in 2017. Garg was also part of the Google.com engineering team and the Google enterprise team. In his last venture, he was Founder and CTO of Bizrise Technologies (bikry.com), which was part of Y combinator Winter 2020 batch.
