Technology consulting firm Accenture has appointed Binny Mathews as its new Chief Procurement Officer and Head of the Procurement Plus (P+) Capability. Mathews, who was with Infosys for over 15 years and was a senior vice president and group head of procurement before joining Accenture, joins the list of senior executives leaving Infosys since last year.

In November, Rajeev Ranjan, Executive Vice President at Infosys, stepped down to join Ness Digital Engineering. This news followed the departure of long-standing EVP and HR Head Richard Lobo, who joined rival firm Tech Mahindra. Additionally, Senior VP Vishal Salvi left last year to join Quick Heal Technologies, President Mohit Joshi became CEO & MD of Tech Mahindra, Ravi Kumar S stepped down as Infosys President to become CEO and EVP & Co-Head of Delivery & Head of CIC at Cognizant, and Narsimha Rao Mannepalli resigned from Infosys to take a career break.

Before joining Infosys, Mathews held leadership positions at Marico, mjunction services limited (a joint venture between SAIL and TATA Steel), FreeMarkets (now SAP Ariba), and Marico, where he developed innovative and data-driven approaches to sustainable procurement. He has also served on the board of Infosys Portland and is currently a member of the Advisory Board for the Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) MBA program at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Udaipur.

In his new role, Mathews will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of Accenture's global procurement spend. This includes continuing the transformation of the company's supply chain into a sustainable, diverse value chain that is committed to responsible and profitable buying and 360° supplier partnerships.

"I'm excited to lead Procurement Plus and continue advancing Accenture's global leadership in responsible buying, with sustainability, transparency, agility, and inclusivity underscoring how we work with our suppliers around the world and across the marketplace," said Mathews, an alumnus of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.

"Binny will play a critical role in powering innovation, growth, and business continuity for the organization. He will ensure that our global strategy is executed based on local demand and that we lead with data-driven ways to deliver value," said Margaret Smith, Senior Managing Director and Executive Director of Corporate Services & Sustainability at Accenture.
