Kulmeet Bawa, the SAP India managing director, has been elevated to the post of chief revenue officer for the business technology platform (SAP BTP). Bawa was the president and MD at SAP India for more than three and a half years, and will continue to serve through February. During this time, Bawa’s replacement would also be announced. 

In this new global role, Bawa will drive the growth and adoption of SAP BTP across the globe, which includes practices related to artificial intelligence, data and analytics, automation, and integration.

Under his leadership SAP India became one of the company’s fastest-growing global markets, focusing on leading Indian organisations, including 50 Indian Unicorns that run on SAP today, the company said in a statement.

An alum of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Business School, Bawa has been associated with the Indian Army and companies like Microsoft and Adobe. He is currently also the chairman of IT/ITeS council at Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).

In December last year, Mohammed Anzy, the chief operating officer of SAP Labs India stepped down from his position. After a 17-year stint with SAP Labs India, Anzy joined NYSE-listed software firm Guidewire, where he is serving as the vice president of engineering and India managing director. During his time at SAP, Anzy oversaw SAP Labs India’s five locations — Bengaluru, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad —employing over 15,000 individuals. His responsibilities spanned various domains, including development, consulting, strategic management, and entrepreneurship.
