The week (January 27-February 2) was buzzing with several CXO movements in the tech industry with some of the major appointments in key business positions. IT firms like Netgear and Atlassian made important new appointments, while non-tech firms like Liberty Steel Group and Somany Ceramics announced key executive appointments in technology roles. Netgear elevates Charles Prober as new CEO, Patrick Lo to retire

Global networking company, Netgear, has announced the appointment of Charles Prober as its Chief Executive Officer. Prober succeeds Patrick C S Lo, who is retiring from his position of CEO and Chairman of the company’s Board. Lo will continue to serve as a strategic advisor to facilitate a smooth transition in leadership until July 2024. Prior to his promotion, Prober was serving the organisation as a Senior Technology Executive. He is also joining the company's Board of Directors, as per the statement. Previously, Prober worked at Life360, Tile, GoPro, Digital Publishing at Electronic Arts. Prior to his operating roles, Prober served as a consultant with McKinsey & Company. (Read more)

Atlassian appoints new head of engineering, commerce and enterprise agility

Team collaboration and productivity software provider Atlassian has announced the appointment of Shamik Sharma to head of engineering, commerce and enterprise agility. Sharma will report to Atlassian’s chief technology officer (CTO) Rajeev Rajan.An industry veteran, Sharma has three decades of experience in technology and engineering. He has been the co-founder of Cure.fit/Cult.sport where he spent over five years. Before that he was the chief technology officer (CTO) and chief product officer (CPO) at ecommerce platform Myntra. He has held multiple senior leadership positions at Lytro Inc., RockYou, StumbleUpon, Yahoo!, Confluent Software and HP, among others. (Read more)

In her role as IFS Chief Sustainability Officer, Graham will oversee the successful delivery of IFS’s own strategy, working with the Executive Leadership team to scale at pace across its global operations. Since 2021, Graham has spearheaded sustainability and ESG at IFS, defining and implementing a successful multi-year strategy. With a background in environmental law, Graham has worked across global corporations in the technology and finance sectors.

BharatPe appoints Rohan Khara as CPO

Fintech major BharatPe announced the appointment of Rohan Khara as the new Chief Product Officer (CPO). Khara will be leading product development and innovation, designing of merchants and consumer products, and user research teams across the BharatPe Group of companies. Prior to joining BharatPe, Khara was the managing director at FairMoney India. He has 17 years of rich experience across various facets of product management, design and innovation. Khara has spent the last eight years building & scaling financial services products across fintech startups in three emerging markets — India, Indonesia and Nigeria. During his professional journey, he has led product roles across a range of startups, including MobiKwik and Quikr.

Nikhil Chaturvedi starts a new position as CIDO at Liberty Steel Group

Nikhil Chaturvedi has started a new position as Chief IT & Digitalization Officer (CIDO) at Liberty Steel Group. Before this he was EVP & Global Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at JSW Group. He was earlier associated with SAP, HCL, Capgemini Ernst & Young and Oil India Limited. He largely has been working in the Energy & Resources sector in most of his career. Chaturvedi is a Bachelor in Technology (B.Tech) from Indian School of Mines and holds a MBA degree in Finance from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
