IT major Wipro and Finnish telecom gear maker Nokia have collaborated to introduce a 5G private wireless solution. This collaboration aims to assist enterprises in advancing their digital transformation.

The joint solution aims at delivering a secure 5G private wireless network integrated with enterprise operations. This will provide enhanced reliability, mobility, connectivity speed, real-time access to business insights, and efficient data processing with low latency.

Through a dedicated wireless network, enterprises gain the ability to create a controlled private environment for better performance management and security risk mitigation, the company said.

This technology offers improved speed, reliability, and security, enabling enterprises to enhance operational efficiencies through advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-driven automation. Initially targeting customers in manufacturing, energy, utilities, transportation, and sports entertainment industries, the joint solution incorporates Nokia's Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) and Modular Private Wireless (MPW) solutions, including hardware and software.

Wipro, utilising its 5G Def-i with Industry DOT and OTNxt platforms, will provide strategic guidance, and industry insights, and oversee the architecture and design to address unique business challenges. The company will also handle the implementation and management of the end-to-end network.

Jo Debecker, Global Head of Wipro FullStride Cloud, said, “We are proud to partner with Nokia to address this pressing business need and to create a way for enterprises to leverage wireless private networks to digitise at speed and access real-time insights to realise their ambitions. By combining Nokia’s network expertise with Wipro’s strategic business, technology, and connectivity capabilities, we are enabling the promise of technology to drive impactful change and value.”
