IT services provider Tech Mahindra and Pegatron, an electronics manufacturing firm, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 to collaborate on developing private 5G solutions for enterprises. 

The partnership aims to explore opportunities in the rapidly growing private 5G space, acting as a catalyst for business growth. Leveraging Pegatron's purpose-built private 5G product portfolio under the Pegatron 5G business unit and Tech Mahindra's expertise in large-scale 5G transformations, the collaboration will deliver end-to-end 5G for Enterprise (5G4E) solutions, the company said. 

Pegatron will provide the 5G connectivity layer, while Tech Mahindra will offer end-to-end 5G services. This joint effort is designed to accelerate the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) applications and edge computing technology through 5G, facilitating network adoption across various industries.

Tech Mahindra's 5G4E transformation programs will also provide insights for Pegatron to refine its portfolio, considering geographic, industrial, user, technological, and regulatory factors, especially in the APJI region.  

The collaboration will also focus on enhancing digital resilience for disaster response and improving communication in disaster-prone or remote areas. Additionally, it aims to support first-line disaster relief units with energy-efficient solutions utilising 5G Radio Access Network and satellite communication technology.
