“India is one of the fastest-growing markets for SAP both regionally and globally, serving as a crucial hub for innovation and growth. We are thrilled to welcome Prasad, and I am confident that his profound understanding of the market, technology, and people will drive the next phase of growth in India,” said Mariott.

To be sure, former SAP India MD Bawa announced stepping down from the role in January. He served in the post for three and a half years; in his new role, Bawa will drive the growth and adoption of SAP BTP across the globe, which includes practices related to artificial intelligence, data and analytics, automation, and integration.

In December last year, Mohammed Anzy, the chief operating officer of SAP Labs India stepped down from his position. After a 17-year stint with SAP Labs India, Anzy joined NYSE-listed software firm Guidewire, where he is serving as the vice president of engineering and India managing director. During his time at SAP, Anzy oversaw SAP Labs India’s five locations — Bengaluru, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad —employing over 15,000 individuals. His responsibilities spanned various domains, including development, consulting, strategic management, and entrepreneurship.
