SiMa.ai raises fund

Software and machine learning chip design company SiMa.ai raised $70 million in an extended Series B funding round. With the new round led by Maverick Capital, along with Point72, Jericho, and others, the total funding raised by the company now stands at $270 million. The company also unveiled the second generation of its Machine Learning System-on-Chip (MLSoC) platform along with the fund-raising announcement.

Zand Bank partners with Infosys Finacle

UAE’s digital-only Zand Bank has selected Infosys Finacle Solutions for enhancing customer-centric banking services. Infosys Finacle Solutions which is a part of Infosys’ EdgeVerve Systems, will offer its advanced cloud-native banking solutions on Microsoft Azure along with other AI and predictive analytics solutions.

Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and British Technology Secretary Michelle Donelan signed a memorandum of understanding in Washington to jointly develop advanced AI model testing, following commitments announced at an AI Safety Summit in Bletchley Park in November.

NetApp’s startup cohort graduates

Data infrastructure company NetApp, on Thursday, announced the graduation of five deep tech startups from the 12th cohort of its flagship accelerator program, NetApp Excellerator — NEMA AI, Zeron, Chaos Genius, Kensu, and Blockfenders. These startups work in diverse fields such as data management, neuroscience, and AI-based consumer insights.  Three out of five graduating startups received mentorship through NetApp ExcellerateHER, an initiative of the NetApp Excellerator program aimed at women-led startups.
