U.S.-based digital product engineering firm GlobalLogic, announced a new architecture on Tuesday designed to support the deployment of enterprise-grade artificial intelligence (AI). Known as the Platform-of-Platforms architecture, it has been created to address the critical challenges that every enterprise must overcome when operationalizing AI and generative AI (GenAI) at scale, the Hitachi group company said.

For instance, while enterprises must address data privacy and security requirements, prevent intellectual property (IP) leakage, and manage legal risks, they also need to identify an approach that allows for technical agility as new models, platforms, and other innovations emerge. From this perspective, the new solution will assist tech leaders in managing organizational change and finding effective strategies for controlling costs and driving return on AI/GenAI investments.

Developed in collaboration with leading hyperscalers and leveraging their foundational GenAI capabilities, GlobalLogic's architecture is the first of its kind to unify and industrialize enterprise-grade AI and GenAI solutions.

Sumit Sood, COO and Head of Engineering at GlobalLogic emphasized that as companies transition from AI and GenAI prototypes to enterprise-scale deployments, it is evident that using this technology requires more than just sending prompts to a large language model (LLM). The company has been assisting enterprises in adopting GenAI since 2021 and traditional AI for a longer period, often in life-critical situations. They understand the necessary steps to ensure responsibility, reliability, and reusability in AI platforms.

Sood elaborated that the responsibility tenet focuses on providing accurate, lawful, and compliant responses in line with security and governance requirements. The reliability tenet necessitates mechanisms for correcting model drift, hallucinations, and security threats over time. Lastly, the reusability tenet is crucial for implementing common data ingestion, preparation, and model training, as well as shared consumption mechanisms to contain costs and mitigate risks by preventing duplicative work.

The architecture enables the integration of best-of-breed models, algorithms, and solutions, whether deployed in the cloud or on-premises. It also includes accelerators for rapidly deploying sought-after use cases such as customer support and operations, software development and legacy migration, and enterprise knowledge management.

GlobalLogic has expanded its offerings by acquiring leading firms like Sidero in Ireland and Katzion in Australia. Following its acquisition by Hitachi in 2021, GlobalLogic is focusing on digital transformation solutions for its clients.

In an interview with TechCircle in March, Piyush Jha, Managing Director and Head – India & APAC at GlobalLogic, mentioned that the company plans to increase investments in technologies such as generative AI, quantum computing, and the metaverse in the coming years. Jha also stated that GlobalLogic aims for over 20% growth in revenue by FY2025, with a significant increase in investments in the generative AI space.

"In 2024-25, we plan to significantly increase our investments in generative AI, with ongoing sub-programs expanding. These investments not only simplify processes but also give us a substantial competitive edge. Another priority for us is sustainability," he said, adding that the company is aiming for a growth rate of over 20% in terms of revenue for the current fiscal.
