Tata Comm launches fully automated edge computing platform
Indian IT services provider Tata Communications on Tuesday unveiled a fully automated edge computing platform called CloudLyte, designed to empower future-ready enterprises to thrive in a data-driven world.
The new solution caters to the needs of global enterprises through its multi-access, cloud, and infrastructure-agnostic architecture.
Through its unique ‘solution in a box’ approach, CloudLyte provides enterprises with the platform, infrastructure, network, managed services, and the use cases as a comprehensive unified offering. This approach enables swift deployment (within minutes) and effortless scaling as required, thus future-proofing investments, the company said in a statement.
With real-time inferencing and auto-scaling, the platform seamlessly extends cloud capabilities to the edge, bringing in the agility and flexibility of the cloud. Besides. CloudLyte also manages edge resources centrally for a seamless experience and has built-in security with features like zero-trust architecture and layered defences — simplifying enterprise operations, maximizing efficiency, and driving business growth.

The company re-appointed A.S. Lakshminarayanan as Managing Director and CEO of the company for the second term commencing from November 26, 2024 till April 13, 2026, subject to approval of the shareholders.
On April 17 Tata Communications reported a 1.5% fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 321.2 crore for the quarter ended 31 March, 2024. The company had reported a net profit at Rs 326 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue from operations increased 24.6% to Rs 5,691.7 crore as against Rs 4,568.7 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
