Following Cisco’s acquisition of Splunk earlier this year, the two firms on June 6 have announced the first set of integrations in observability technologies. These integrations aim at combining Cisco’s network capabilities with Splunk’s expertise in log analytics and cloud native observability solutions to help customers reduce blind spots.

As part of the announcement, the two companies are launching a unified observability experience for joint customers, and the introduction of Splunk Log Observer Connect for Cisco AppDynamics and Cisco AppDynamics integration with Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI).

“By bringing together Splunk and Cisco observability solutions, customers now have unified visibility across their entire digital footprint so they can detect, investigate and resolve problems faster to create a reliable, resilient experience for their users,” said Tom Casey, SVP and GM, Products & Technology, Splunk. “Having full control over their data helps them make more targeted, effective and smarter investments in their digital systems and services, allowing them to better leverage their entire digital footprint to attract more business and grow the company.”

Further, Cisco has also announced a new AI assistant for AppDynamics to deliver guidance and insights to customer for making accurate and informed decisions. Further, AppDynamics software-as-a-service (SaaS) has been expanded on Microsoft Azure. In addition, new Advanced AI in Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) has also been unveiled, which leverages advanced AI and machine learning capabilities to provide IT teams more precise alerting and a more accurate view into IT health.

Cisco completed its $28 billion blockbuster acquisition of Splunk in March, in a move to combine the two companies’ cybersecurity and observability strengths and create what company executives have described as a distinctive, AI-powered data platform. At the time of acquisition, the companies had announced Cisco will integrate Splunk technologies across its products, including its Full Stack Observability, Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Security Cloud, ThousandEyes and AppDynamics platforms.
