Cybersecurity firm Commvault launched a new facility in Coimbatore on Monday. This center will complement Commvault’s existing operationsin Bengaluru, and strengthen the company’s overall presence in India. It will serve as a key R&D center, focusing on Cloud Rewind and Cleanroom Recovery, while also being an innovation hub for engineering and technical talent, supporting regulatory compliance and AI advancements. 

The innovations will ultimately be utilized by customers across a wide array of verticals from banking, financial services, and healthcare, to public services and manufacturing, the company said in a statement. The center will also help the company in leveraging the engineering talent in city to drive high-end cloud engineering capabilities, a company spokesperson said.

The facility launch follows Commvault’s acquisition of cloud company Appranix. With Appranix’s solutions like Cloud Rewind, Commvault is already helping  enterprises to rebuild cloud applications following outages or attacks. Cloud Rewind integrates cloud-native distributed application recovery and rebuild capabilities. Notably, the Coimbatore facility will house the engineering team from Appranix, now integrated into Commvault’s R&D organization, to drive advancements in cloud-native application recovery and resilience.
