Equinix names Cyrus Adaggra as President of Asia-Pacific

US-headquartered digital infrastructure firm Equinix has appointed Cyrus Adaggra as its new President for the Asia-Pacific region.
Adaggra, who has been with the company for four years, will be responsible for overseeing the management, strategy, and growth plan for Equinix in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Cyrus joined Equinix in 2021 as Vice President of corporate development and strategy for Asia-Pacific and brings over 20 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), financial strategy, strategy consulting, and corporate development to the company.
In his previous role, Cyrus was instrumental in driving Equinix's growth strategy, focusing on expanding the company's presence in both existing and new markets within the Asia-Pacific region. His efforts included leading market entries into Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand, as well as fostering organic growth in established markets.
In his new role, Cyrus will be based in Sydney, Australia, and will report directly to Chief Business Officer Jon Lin. His responsibilities will include executing the regional strategy that aligns with Equinix's customer vision while navigating the unique challenges and opportunities of the APAC market. The focus will be on digital technology, data centres, and interconnections, which are vital to the future of global economies.
Jon Lin, Chief Business Officer at Equinix said, "Cyrus' contributions in Asia-Pacific have been pivotal to our ability to grow and expand into new markets across Asia. He is an exceptional leader in advancing regional growth, forging strong government partnerships, and strengthening our presence in the region. I am confident that Cyrus, as President of APAC, will continue to drive Equinix's success and expansion in this fast-growing region."
Adaggra said that the digital landscape across Asia is experiencing rapid growth and transformation, fuelled by the increasing adoption of digital technologies and the rise of digital economies.
Adaggra's appointment aims to address the demands of customers and partners amidst a rapidly evolving technological environment. In Asia-Pacific, Equinix operates 56 data centres in 14 key metros across Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore, including the recently opened data centres in Johor and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
Last month, in India, the company purchased 5,597 sq m (1.38 acres) of land in Mumbai's Chandivali area for ₹155 crore. Equinix India had in June 2022 announced an initial investment of $86 million to build a new data centre in Mumbai. The firm had acquired a four-acre land parcel in the city's Chandivali area. The company had earlier said that the new data centre, to be named MB3, will be Equinix’s third such facility in Mumbai. MB3 IBX will be located adjacent to Equinix MB2 IBX and 1.5 km away from MB1 IBX data centre.
“With our exceptional APAC team, we will deliver unparalleled service to accelerate our customers' digital transformation journeys and drive innovation across the region,” Adaggra said.
