
CleverTap, upGrad launch AI training programme for marketers


Customer engagement platform CleverTap has partnered with online learning platform upGrad to introduce a deep-learning track aimed at equipping marketers with hands-on training in artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics. The programme will be integrated into upGrad’s digital marketing and product management courses, offered in collaboration with MICA and Duke CE.
The initiative is designed to provide learners with real-world experience in customer retention, engagement strategies, and AI-driven marketing. Participants will gain access to the CleverTap platform for a month, allowing them to apply data analytics to marketing campaigns. They will also have the option to extend access at a discounted rate for further learning. Upon completion, they will receive a joint certification from upGrad and CleverTap.
CleverTap, known for its customer engagement solutions, supports over 2,000 brands worldwide. Its platform is powered by TesseractDB, a database designed specifically for customer engagement. UpGrad offers a range of online and hybrid programmes, working with Indian and international universities to provide diplomas, master’s, and executive doctorate courses.

Sunil Thomas, Co-founder and Executive Chairman at CleverTap, highlighted the importance of staying ahead in a rapidly evolving marketing landscape. He emphasised that the partnership would help nurture future-ready marketers. Rohit Sharma, President of Consumer Business at upGrad, noted that AI-driven marketing is already shaping the industry, and the collaboration aims to prepare learners to leverage data for business impact.
Additionally, students will have access to educational content from CleverTap University through upGrad’s Learning Management System, offering further insights into the platform’s applications and best practices. This partnership reflects a growing emphasis on AI and data analytics in marketing, ensuring professionals are equipped with the skills needed in a changing digital economy.
