Taylor Wimpey, one of the UK’s largest residential developers, has appointed HCLTech as its end-to-end IT services partner in a multi-year agreement aimed at advancing its digital transformation strategy.

The collaboration will see HCLTech deliver a wide range of technology services to modernise Taylor Wimpey’s IT systems. This includes data and network services, cybersecurity, AI tools, and the management of applications and infrastructure. Workplace technology solutions also form part of the plan.

As part of the agreement, HCLTech will establish a dedicated innovation lab to support Taylor Wimpey’s shift towards a digital-first business model. The lab will be used to develop and test new technologies and accelerate the company’s strategic technology goals.

The housebuilder aims to integrate generative AI tools, including HCLTech’s AI Force, to streamline software development, improve quality control, and enhance customer and employee experiences. Automation of infrastructure and user services is also expected to improve operational efficiency.

Commenting on the partnership, Andy Feldon, IT Director at Taylor Wimpey, said, “Working with HCLTech has helped us transition to advanced data centres and build a stronger data infrastructure. Their support in modernising our applications aligns with our goal of becoming the UK’s leading digital housebuilder.”

Pankaj Tagra, Corporate Vice President at HCLTech, said the engagement would allow Taylor Wimpey to implement stable and secure digital systems, with a focus on AI and innovation tailored for the home building industry.

India’s third-largest IT services firm announced its fourth quarter results in April, reporting slightly lower-than-expected revenue for Q4FY25, with revenue from operations for Q4FY25 rising 1.2% QoQ and 6.1%t YoY to ₹30,246 crore, impacted by global macroeconomic uncertainties. 

The company, however, showed confidence in; during the fourth quarter, HCLTech focused on obtaining exclusive contracts related to AI and generative AI, completing 12 new agreements, including those involving agentic AI and automation processes. The company also highlighted its AI offerings as a growth driver for the entire FY25.
