HCLTech partners with Microsoft to support SAP S/4HANA cloud migrations with AI tools

Technology companies HCLTech and Microsoft have announced a partnership to help businesses migrate to SAP S/4HANA on Microsoft Cloud. The initiative aims to streamline the process using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to reduce complexity, cost, and downtime.
The collaboration combines HCLTech’s AI-driven platform, AI Force, with Microsoft Cloud and AI technologies. This will support enterprises in adopting SAP’s RISE with S/4HANA offering through HCLTech’s SAP Migration+ model. The companies, in a joint statement, said that the approach allows for a business-focused transformation by identifying return on investment, mapping key outcomes, and applying automation from the start.
The new solution includes AI-based assessments that help organisations evaluate potential business outcomes before migration. It also offers a strategic roadmap designed to align transformation goals with measurable results. The use of automation aims to lower risks and bring intelligence into operational processes early in the transition.

The approach differs from conventional migration services by starting with business case development rather than just technical execution. The companies aim to help enterprises modernise their enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems while also exploring ways to use AI in broader business operations.
"Unlike traditional approaches that primarily focus on migration execution, HCLTech and Microsoft are addressing a critical gap in the market by offering a business case-first approach that empowers clients to quantify value, identify AI-led transformation opportunities and develop a clear strategic roadmap for RISE with S/4HANA adoption," said Pawan Vadapalli, Corporate Vice President and Global Head, Digital Business Services at HCLTech.
“Our customers are looking for the most agile and effective way to modernise their SAP estate, and at the same time, focusing on how they achieve their broader goals of business transformation, leveraging Microsoft AI Tools and Solutions,” said Wael El Kabbany, Global Vice President, SAP Business Unit at Microsoft.
