HCLTech appoints Kiran Cherukuri as GCC Practice leader

IT services firm HCLTech has appointed Kiran Cherukuri as the Global GCC Practice Leader. In this role, Cherukuri will help HCLTech scale its global capability center (GCC) practice by bringing focused offerings based on the company’s services and technology portfolio, as well as corporate functions.
Cherukuri has over three decades of experience. He has worked at HCLTech for over 14 years, across two separate stints. During his time at the Noida-headquartered firm, he contributed significantly to the Digital Foundation Services, Engineering and R&D Services, Industry Solutions and Talent Solutions. He successfully set up global delivery centers and managed business development, alliances, and marketing.
Beyond HCLTech, Cherukuri has worked with Tech Mahindra and has also founded Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based consultancy services firm called TechEra IT. He holds a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management.

“GCCs have evolved into centers of strategic digital innovation for global enterprises. HCLTech plans to double down on this fast-growing segment with a sharp focus on India. I am confident that Kiran's rich experience, deep domain expertise and ecosystem acumen will enable us to build on our proven leadership in the GCC space,” said Rahul Singh, Chief Operating Officer—Corporate Functions, HCLTech.
In April, on the sidelines of the quarterly results announcements for Q4FY25, the company announced that it will double down on its focus on the GCC segment in India. HCLTech has already been a partner to over 200 such GCCs. It offers GCC-specific solutions and models like Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT/BOT) model, IP partnerships, strategic joint ventures, and workforce deployment.
