Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a five-year agreement with Finnish telecom operator DNA to support its transition to public cloud infrastructure. The move is part of DNA’s larger program to modernise its IT systems and improve service delivery.

The plan includes migrating up to 80 percent of DNA’s enterprise applications to the public cloud by 2030. In the first two years, more than 100 applications will be moved to Google Cloud. TCS will use its proprietary tools, TCS Cloud Counsel and TCS Migration Factory, to automate and streamline the migration process.

A new Cloud Migration Factory will be set up at TCS’ nearshore center in Portugal to manage the project and ensure efficient operations. This will support DNA’s shift to cloud-based platforms, which the company says is needed to manage growing data volumes and use Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based services.

TCS and DNA have collaborated for 17 years, and this new project also supports Telenor Group’s wider digital transformation strategy. As a subsidiary of Telenor Group, which operates telecom services across the Nordic region, DNA benefits from the group's backing. Telenor has endorsed the initiative, highlighting its potential to deliver long-term value.

Jussi Tolvanen, CEO, DNA Plc, said, "Cloud adoption is essential for DNA's business, as we have millions of customers and the data volume we handle is enormous. Running AI services without a cloud-based data platform is practically impossible.”

Subhadipta Samantray, Country Head, TCS in Finland, said, “TCS will leverage its experience to deliver enhanced cloud migration and AI-enabled cloud operations at scale. To achieve this goal, TCS will work with Google Cloud, utilising a tailored cloud operating model along with advanced tools and accelerators”.
