Genpact acquires AI firm XponentL to boost data services

Technology services provider Genpact has announced the acquisition of XponentL Data, a data products and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions company. The acquisition is intended to deepen Genpact’s capabilities in the areas of data strategy, architecture, engineering, and AI deployment, as the company continues its shift toward a more AI-driven operating model.
XponentL Data, headquartered in Pennsylvania, brings with it various services, including domain-led data design, modern data platform implementation, and strategic industry solutions. The company has established partnerships with major technology providers such as Databricks, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft, and has developed training and tools across these platforms. Its portfolio includes proven solutions tailored to industry-specific needs, helping businesses accelerate the deployment of AI for measurable impact.
Through this acquisition, Genpact aims to further support its clients across the full lifecycle of AI transformation—from strategy development and data architecture to implementation and scaling, the company said in a statement. The addition of XponentL is expected to enhance Genpact’s ability to help clients harness data to improve operations and make more informed business decisions.

Balkrishan ‘BK’ Kalra, President and Chief Executive Officer of Genpact, said that the company has been consistently evolving its service offerings to align with a future where AI is central to business success. Kalra added that the inclusion of XponentL will allow Genpact to offer more enhanced solutions for managing and deriving value from complex data environments.
Following the acquisition, all XponentL employees will become part of Genpact, and Tom Johnstone will continue to lead the business. The deal was finalised on 5 June. Financial terms of the transaction were not made public.
