Gurgaon-based AI startup Staqu Technologies has said that it has implemented its Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based video analytics platform, JARVIS, at Sylcon retail outlets in Kerala. Sylcon, known for its chain of footwear and hypermarket stores, is now using the technology to gather data on customer behaviour and improve in-store operations.

With the rollout of JARVIS, Sylcon stores receive daily footfall data across their branches. This information is being used to adjust staffing levels, plan product placements, and time promotions more effectively based on real-time customer movement patterns. The platform also tracks conversion rates, providing insights into the performance of individual departments and even specific shelves.

Sylcon’s Executive Director, Faizan Mohamad, noted that the system has made it easier for the company to make operational decisions using the data from its existing CCTV infrastructure. “With real-time visibility into customer trends, we’re now better positioned to manage staffing, layouts, and offers to suit how customers move and shop,” he said.

Atul Rai, Co-Founder and CEO of Staqu Technologies, highlighted how platforms like JARVIS allow businesses to understand not just what is happening in-store, but why. “It’s about shifting from intuition to data-driven insight. This helps retailers react more precisely and efficiently to day-to-day challenges,” he said.

The move is part of a wider trend in which retailers are using AI to improve store management and customer service. Staqu’s JARVIS platform, which integrates with existing CCTV systems, is also being used in sectors such as manufacturing, hospitality, and urban planning.

In February, Staqu introduced Jarvis GPT, an AI model for the retail sector. It provides real-time customer insights, store monitoring, and predictive analytics to help retailers optimize decisions and improve customer experience. Jarvis GPT tracks footfall trends by gender across stores, monitors customer engagement with products to improve inventory placement and store layout, and uses AI video surveillance to detect suspicious activity and prevent loss. The model also generates instant analytics reports, sharing them directly on WhatsApp for rapid decision-making.
