Volvo Cars expands partnership with HCLTech for engineering solutions at scale

IT services provider HCLTech has been chosen by Volvo Cars as a strategic supplier for engineering services. Building on the established relationship in digital and product lifecycle management (PLM), HCLTech will now offer end-to-end engineering solutions at scale.
The collaboration will see the company support Volvo Cars’ engineering future ambitions from its automotive Centre of Excellence in Gothenburg, as well as its global offshore and nearshore delivery centers. To be sure, HCLTech won a bid to become the automotive company’s primary digital transformation partner in 2019.
Pankaj Tagra, HCLTech Corporate Vice President, Manufacturing and Allied Industries, Europe, said, “HCLTech is investing substantially in nextgen automotive engineering. This strategic engagement reflects our commitment to delivering high performance, future-ready engineering solutions that help shape the mobility of tomorrow.”

Tagra added that the partnership cements HCLTech’s position as a strategic engineering partner of choice for global automotive leaders.
HCLTech in April reported slightly lower-than-expected revenue for Q4FY25, with revenue from operations for Q4FY25 rising 1.2% QoQ and 6.1%t YoY to ₹30,246 crore, impacted by global macroeconomic uncertainties.
During the fourth quarter, HCLTech focused on obtaining exclusive contracts related to AI and generative AI, completing 12 new agreements, including those involving agentic AI and automation processes. The Noida-based company received $3 billion in new bookings this quarter and for the full year, HCL’s total contract value for deal wins came in at $9.26 billion.
