There have been multiple developments this week on the tech front. From the multiple acquisition deals to digital transformation partnerships, here is a list of the most important updates for a quick catch-up

Volvo Cars expands partnership with HCLTech

IT services provider HCLTech has been chosen by Volvo Cars as a strategic supplier for engineering services. Building on the established relationship in digital and product lifecycle management (PLM), HCLTech will now offer end-to-end engineering solutions at scale.

The collaboration will see the company support Volvo Cars’ engineering future ambitions from its automotive Centre of Excellence in Gothenburg, as well as its global offshore and nearshore delivery centers. To be sure, HCLTech won a bid to become the automotive company’s primary digital transformation partner in 2019.

This week, the Noida-headquartered company also expanded its partnership with financial services firm The Standard. Under this collaboration, HCLTech will deliver AI-driven infrastructure and application services to boost efficiency, support rapid growth and enhance customer experience. This collaboration will also accelerate The Standard’s shift to an IT products and services-based operating model.

Decimal Point Analytics partners with Braincube

In a bid to expand its footprint into industrial verticals, Decimal Point Analytics, a Mumbai-based enterprise data solutions provider, on Thursday, announced a partnership with Braincube, a provider of productivity management systems (PMS) for manufacturers globally.

Braincube is a France-based Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) provider. This collaboration aims to support manufacturing companies in India and the Middle East with advanced analytics and artificial intelligence (AI), which in turn can improve productivity and lower operational costs.

That said, the partnership will combine Decimal Point Analytics’ AI and data platforms with Braincube’s industrial automation and productivity solutions. The latter’s low-code PMS further allows AI deployment across operations without needing in-house data science teams to scale AI easily.

Wipro-Metro AG partnership

Wipro has announced an extension of its partnership with Metro AG, a global food wholesaler, for an additional two years. The renewed agreement will see Wipro continuing to provide Metro with integrated digital services, such as cloud, data, application development, and AI-enabled IT support services. 

Since 2021, Wipro has been a strategic IT partner to the German-headquartered wholesaler, successfully transforming the company's entire IT landscape and significantly improving business operations efficiency through a change management programme. This partnership has been pivotal in driving Metro's digital evolution, ensuring that the company remains competitive in a rapidly changing market.

Capgemini, Dai-ichi Life ink multi-year deal to set up GCC in India

Capgemini on Monday signed a multi-year strategic agreement with Dai-ichi Life Group to set up a Global Capability Center (GCC) in India to accelerate the Japanese insurance group’s digital transformation globally.

The new GCC to be operated from Hyderabad will use the region’s pool of skilled digital and IT talent to enhance Dai-ichi Life Group’s internal technology platforms and strengthen its in-house capabilities across software development, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity.

The initiative will initially serve the company’s operations in Japan, the United States, and Australia, with provisions to expand into other markets. The GCC will operate under a Build-Operate-Transfer model, enabling Dai-ichi Life to gradually internalise critical digital functions.

One Point One Solutions buys Techscient Ai

Mumbai-based Business Process Management (BPM) firm One Point One Solutions Ltd. (1Point1), on Monday, announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Techscient.Ai Private Limited, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered no-code automation firm specialising in autonomous software engineering.

The acquisition strengthens 1Point1’s AI-led automation capabilities and positions it as a key player in India’s digital transformation landscape, the company said without mentioning the financial details of the buyout.

Bengaluru-based Techscient.Ai, incorporated in September 2024, is an AI-first deep-tech firm focused on no-code workflow automation, generative AI solutions, and intelligent process orchestration. 

ICRA buys Fintellix

Credit rating agency ICRA has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Bengaluru-based Fintellix, a technology company offering risk and reporting solutions to financial institutions globally.

Fintellix specialises in regulatory risk, supervisory reporting, and data analytics. Its proprietary data platform helps financial institutions meet compliance requirements and manage data effectively while delivering analytical insights.

Ciklum acquires CodeAstu

London-headquartered digital engineering company Ciklum has announced the acquisition of CodeAstu, a Pune-based software development firm. With this move, the company aims to improve its delivery capacity and expand its presence in the US market, it said in a statement.

With a global workforce of over 4,000, Ciklum provides digital engineering services to more than 250 clients worldwide. The company has experience in software development, design, and consultancy, and has developed products for both large enterprises and emerging tech firms. CodeAstu offers various services such as web and mobile development, high-performance computing, and DevOps consulting.  

Aurionpro bags multi-year deal from Sri Lankan bank

Aurionpro Solutions has announced a significant multi-year agreement with one of Sri Lanka’s top-tier banks, which features on The Banker's prestigious list of the Top 1000 World Banks. This marks Aurionpro’s second major win in Sri Lanka within a year, reinforcing its growing footprint in the South Asian financial technology market.

Valued at over $ 2.5 million, the contract will see Aurionpro deploy its advanced iCashpro platform—an integrated cash management and transaction banking solution designed for next-generation corporate banking. The implementation will include modules enhanced with artificial intelligence capabilities from Arya.ai and specialised features from Fintra.
