Indian technology firm Axiscades has signed an agreement with Spanish multinational Indra to jointly develop aerospace and defence solutions in India. The agreement was formalised during the Aerospace Show at Le Bourget, where the two companies committed to manufacturing several of Indra’s systems locally.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by José Vicente de los Mozos, CEO of Indra, and Dr Sampath Ravinarayanan, Chairman of Axiscades, in the presence of Indra Chairman Ángel Escribano and Axiscades CEO Alfonso Martínez.

As part of the partnership, Axiscades will help produce Indra’s tactical air navigation antennas, distance measuring equipment for aircraft, and countermeasure systems designed to protect aircraft from guided missile threats. These systems are widely used in modern defence applications.

The move is expected to strengthen Indra’s global presence in aerospace technologies while expanding Axiscades’ role in India’s growing defence manufacturing sector. Indra has maintained a longstanding presence in the country and has contributed to both civil and military projects, including air traffic control systems and solutions for the Indian Armed Forces.

Both companies are also considering additional areas of cooperation, including maritime patrol aircraft solutions and collaborations for Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) projects, such as the CABS MRMR and MMMA programmes.

Separately, Axiscades recently announced its financial results for the final quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year. The company reported a net profit of ₹32 crore, more than three times the ₹9 crore profit recorded during the same period last year. Revenue rose by 5 per cent to ₹268 crore in the quarter, while EBITDA increased 15 per cent to ₹37 crore. For the full financial year, Axiscades’ revenue reached ₹1,031 crore, up from ₹955 crore the previous year.
