Mike Giresi appointed as CIO of Vertiv

Vertiv, a US-based data centre cooling solutions manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Mike Giresi as its Global Chief Information Officer. Giresi will assume the role on 30 June 2025 and will be responsible for overseeing initiatives related to artificial intelligence adoption, cybersecurity, product security, and enhancing productivity and customer experience through digital tools.
Headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, Vertiv operates in more than 130 countries, specialising in hardware, software, and services that ensure continuity for critical applications. In India, the company already has facilities in Ambernath and Pune and aims to create local employment opportunities.
“Strong digital and IT vision and execution are central to our strategy to continue to lead the industry and constantly augment the value we are delivering to our customers,” said Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi, Vertiv CEO. “Mike deeply understands the opportunities of a rapidly evolving AI, digital and IT space and has the experience, the executional focus and expertise to reinforce our competitive advantages.”

Giresi expressed enthusiasm about contributing to Vertiv’s global digital strategy. He highlighted the importance of improving customer experience and advancing product development and manufacturing processes as part of the company’s broader push to support AI and digital transformation for enterprise and edge clients.
Giresi previously served as Chief Digital Officer at Molex and has held senior leadership positions at several major organisations, including Aramark, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Tory Burch, and Godiva Chocolatier. He holds an Executive MBA from Saint Joseph’s University and a BA in English and Information Systems from Seton Hall University.
In January, Vertiv announced the expansion of its integrated business services centre in Pune. This new facility will function as a technology and innovation hub, featuring advanced laboratories and infrastructure, and will employ over 1,000 engineers to address global data centre needs.

Currently, Vertiv India employs over 2,000 people. The new Pune centre will create an additional 1,000 engineering jobs directly and is expected to generate indirect opportunities through partnerships with local suppliers, vendors, and service providers, fostering economic growth and innovation, according to Subhasis Majumdar, Managing Director of Vertiv India.
