HCLSoftware, the enterprise software business of HCLTech, has released HCL Domino 14.5, a new product designed for governments and regulated organisations, such as private banks, that prioritise data privacy. The launch, announced on Monday, includes Domino IQ, an artificial intelligence (AI) feature that helps protect sensitive information while maintaining security.

The Domino IQ tool allows users to automate tasks and analyse data using AI models developed by their own organisation or trusted partners. This comes at a time when regulations, like the European AI Act, are shaping how AI is developed and used in the European Union. Domino IQ gives organisations more control over their AI systems and reduces their dependence on foreign cloud services.

Richard Jefts, Executive Vice President at HCLSoftware, said, “With growing concerns about data privacy and foreign influence, governments and regulated organisations need solutions that keep their information secure. This is especially true for sensitive data in emails, chats, video recordings, and documents. With Domino 14.5, we’re supporting over 200 government agencies to protect their data.”

The product is supported by IONOS, a European hosting provider, which offers a secure cloud platform free from foreign access. Achim Weiss, CEO of IONOS, said, “Digital sovereignty is vital for Europe’s future. We’re proud to work with HCLSoftware to provide secure, reliable infrastructure for organisations with strict privacy needs.”

Other features of Domino 14.5 include certification for information security from the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), tools for monitoring security incidents, compliance with the European Accessibility Act for web-based business tools, and improved chat and meeting solutions ready for immediate use.

In June, Deloitte India entered into a partnership with HCLSoftware to support digital transformation efforts for large enterprises across sectors such as financial services, public sector, consumer markets, and healthcare.
