Tata Technologies, Emerson team up to develop new testing solutions

Product engineering and digital services provider Tata Technologies has joined hands with Emerson, an industrial technology firm, to create new testing and validation methods for manufacturers in the automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle industries worldwide.
The partnership brings together Tata Technologies’ experience in systems engineering and mobility platform development with Emerson’s expertise in software-linked test and measurement tools.
The aim is to help manufacturers deal with the challenges of developing the latest vehicles, including those that are electric, connected, or self-driving. This collaboration is expected to speed up development times, lower costs, and allow companies to bring new products to market more quickly, the company said in a statement.

Nachiket Paranjpe, who leads automotive sales at Tata Technologies, said, “We together will create smart, automated testing solutions for the increasing complexity of connected and self-driving vehicles.”
In a recent trial with a European luxury car maker, the team built electric vehicle powertrain test equipment in just five months, a process that usually takes 15 months. In another project with a premium European brand, they set up an automated testing system for a new infotainment display, running over 30,000 tests and speeding up development significantly.
Shitendra Bhattacharya, head of Emerson’s Test and Measurement business in India, commented, “This partnership combines Emerson’s testing innovations with Tata Technologies’ engineering strength. Together, we can offer complete solutions to help customers manage complexity and keep up in a fast-changing transport industry.”

The companies are currently running pilot projects in India, Europe, and North America, with plans to expand their work with other customers to support the development of advanced vehicle technologies.
