Autodesk to offer local data storage for Indian businesses

Design software maker Autodesk announced that it will offer localised storage in India. It will allow its customers to store and manage their project data locally, especially in regulated sectors such as government, infrastructure, and utilities.
Our Autodesk regional offerings are supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS). To be sure, AWS has two regions in India: Asia Pacific (Mumbai) and Asia Pacific (Hyderabad). Beyond India, Autodesk will be leveraging AWS’s global infrastructure across the UK, Germany, Japan, and Canada.
Customers can now choose India as their primary project data storage region when using Autodesk Docs, Autodesk BIM Collaborate, and Autodesk BIM Collaborate Pro. This storage capability will result in more options for our customers to collaborate in the cloud and provide organizations with the tools they need to manage project data effectively within local regions.

India now joins the United States, European Union, Australia, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Canada in benefiting from Autodesk’s global regional storage offerings.
“India is at a pivotal moment in its digital transformation journey, where the convergence of infrastructure growth and data-driven innovation is reshaping industries. As companies look to accelerate this transformation, prioritizing data regionalization is becoming a strategic imperative, enabling trust, transparency, and seamless collaboration,” said Kamolika Peres Gupta, Vice President, India and SAARC, Autodesk.
In June 2025, Autodesk also introduced localized BIM solutions, tailored towards India's requirements of building smarter, efficient and sustainable infrastructure of the future.

This year, Autodesk has made two high-level appointments. Last month, Peres was appointed the vice president for its India and SAARC business. She is now leading the company’s growth and scaling efforts in the region, and strengthening Autodesk’s customer and partner ecosystem.
Further, in June, the US-based company appointed Ashish Kumar Mittal as Director of the Public Sector for India and the SAARC region.
