Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has selected Provigil Surveillance Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyderabad-based IT services firm Magellanic Cloud Limited, for deploying video surveillance systems across Southern Railway stations in a contract worth approximately ₹85 crore.

The project covers 441 D & E category stations along with augmentation at 43 major stations (Categories A1, A, and B). The surveillance infrastructure will feature AI-enabled systems designed to enhance passenger security while maintaining cybersecurity compliance.

This contract adds to Provigil’s recent project wins, including a ₹32 crore Letter of Acceptance from National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI) and ₹2.25 crore from South Central Railway for AI-based video surveillance systems. The combined value of these projects totals ₹119.25 crore.

The Southern Railway project scope includes supply, installation and commissioning of high-definition IP CCTV cameras at stations and RPF (Railway Protection Force) and GRP (Government Railway Police). The company will also implement networking infrastructure and deploy Video Management Servers with AI-based video analytics and Face Recognition Software.

The surveillance upgrade aligns with Research Designs & Standards Organisation (RDSO) specifications and cybersecurity compliance standards. The system will provide real-time monitoring, anomaly detection and rapid incident response capabilities.

Magellanic Cloud posted a 4.75% increase in consolidated profit after tax to ₹27.77 crore in the June quarter. The company delivered a strong start to FY26, reporting revenue of ₹163.96 crore. The company closed the acquisition of Finoux during the quarter, entering into AI-powered financial analytics and robo-advisory automation.
