Ziroh Labs appoints Vineet Mittal as SVP

Deeptech startup Ziroh Labs has appointed Vineet Mittal as the senior vice president. In this role, Mittal will lead Ziroh Labs’ strategic initiatives, driving the startup’s mission to deliver scalable and efficient AI infrastructure solutions globally.
Mittal has over two decades of experience in enterprise software, AI, and cloud-scale data platforms. His appointment comes at a time when Ziroh is scaling up its flagship platform Kompact AI, while it also expands into critical sectors such as BFSI, healthcare, public services, and defence. His technical expertise and operational leadership will support Ziroh’s R&D efforts, go-to-market initiatives, and ecosystem partnerships, the company said.
"Ziroh Labs is at the forefront of solving one of the most urgent challenges in AI today—delivering scalable AI on existing CPU racks without compromising on output quality. Kompact AI’s CPU-native architecture is a game-changer for democratizing access to advanced AI. I’m excited to contribute to this mission of AI for all,” he said.

Mittal’s last held role was that of Principal Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft. Before Microsoft, Vineet held senior leadership roles at BlueTalon (acquired by Microsoft), RSA India, Sun Microsystems, and others.
The IIT Madras-incubated startup created a lot of buzz earlier this year when it demonstrated a CPU-based AI platform that is capable of running large AI models without the need for expensive GPUs, called Kompact AI. It has been optimised for models like DeepSeek, Qwen, and Llama, demonstrating efficient performance on standard CPU hardware. With this approach, Ziroh Labs claims that it has been able to cut down inferencing costs by 50%.
