Foxconn will bring its next phase of value-added manufacturing, R&D integration and AI-led advanced tech operations to Tamil Nadu, he added.

As part of the larger India expansion project, Foxconn has established a presence near Bengaluru, Karnataka. The company has acquired around 300 acres of land in Devanahalli, close to the Bengaluru International Airport, to set up a large-scale manufacturing facility. With a proposed investment of over ₹21,900 crore (approximately $2.6 billion), the plant is expected to become one of Foxconn’s largest units outside China. The facility will focus on assembling iPhones and other Apple products, strengthening India’s role in Apple’s global supply chain.

Other important Indian projects from Foxconn include a semiconductor facility. In January last year, Foxconn partnered with HCL Group to form a joint venture that will establish a semiconductor assembly and testing facility in India. Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development, a unit of the Taiwanese contract manufacturer, owns a 40% stake in the JV with a $37.2 million investment.
