BharatPe appoints Ajit Kumar as CTO
India’s payments and financial services platform BharatPe has appointed Ajit Kumar as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role he will be responsible for shaping the company’s technology roadmap, with a focus on product scalability, reliability and innovation across payments and lending services.
Kumar brings over 19 years of experience in engineering and technology leadership. His most recent role was Senior Vice President – Engineering at Paytm, where he oversaw engineering operations in the fintech domain. Prior to that he held senior technology leadership positions at Snapdeal (through Shopo), Times Internet, and SAP Labs India, leading development of scalable platforms and driving organisational growth.

Kumar holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). He also completed a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Software Engineering from Indian Institute of Information Technology (IISc) Banglore.
