Embee Software chasing India growth with Cloud, AI-led expansion: CEO

Embee Software is stepping up investments in AI-led productivity, cloud optimisation and managed security services, CEO and Managing Director Sudhir Kothari said in an exclusive interview with TechCircle. The four-decade-old technology partner, which now derives nearly two-thirds of its revenue from cloud and security services, is preparing to expand its Cyber Defense operations, scale Microsoft Copilot deployments and deepen its presence across India’s Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.
Founded in the 1980s as a hardware and licensing reseller, Embee has steadily repositioned itself as a digital transformation partner. “Technology used to be about boxes and licences. Today, customers want agility, automation and insight,” Kothari said. The company now operates across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, SAP modernisation and cybersecurity, offering what it calls an “infrastructure-to-intelligence” stack for enterprises.
Cloud optimisation drives enterprise spending
Kothari said that BFSI, manufacturing and logistics have emerged as Embee’s fastest-growing verticals as enterprises that moved to the cloud during the pandemic seek measurable returns on their investments.

“Many CIOs are now asking whether their cloud investments are actually delivering value,” Kothari noted. Embee has expanded its Cloud Managed Services and FinOps practices to help organisations reduce costs, improve performance and enforce stronger governance. A major private-sector bank recently migrated its core systems to Azure Virtual Desktop with Embee, cutting downtime and tightening compliance—an example Kothari cites as “the ROI customers expect today.”
Bet on AI as the next growth engine
AI is set to become Embee’s strongest growth pillar, with the company among a small set of Indian partners holding Microsoft’s Advanced Specialisation in Copilot and AI. This, Kothari said, gives Embee an early advantage as enterprises redesign workflows across sales, finance, HR and customer service.
Calling AI “the biggest shift since cloud computing,” Kothari said the company is focused on responsible adoption—governance, privacy and measurable productivity outcomes. Embee is also building its own IP, including ArogyaSaathi, a voice-enabled healthcare triage tool, and EmSupport, an AI-based IT helpdesk assistant—both developed after the company won Microsoft’s Agentic AI Hackathon in 2025. “These show that we’re not just implementing AI—we’re building it,” he said.
Renewed SMB push amid rising digital demand

Beyond large enterprises, Embee continues to see strong traction among SMBs, especially in emerging cities. To cater to this price-sensitive segment, the company has rolled out fixed-price cloud bundles integrating Microsoft 365, Azure and its in-house Octane HRMS.
“These are plug-and-play transformation offerings designed for immediate impact,” Kothari said. The company is also increasing training and managed support because “going to the cloud is not a project, it’s a journey.”
Security becomes core to transformation
Cybersecurity has become central to Embee’s value proposition. The company is expanding its 24×7 Cyber Defense Center, which combines Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR and Purview Compliance, making it one of Embee’s fastest-growing business units. BFSI firms are driving much of this demand.
“We’re working closely with banks and financial institutions on RBI and SEBI compliance frameworks,” Kothari said. “It’s not about selling tools—it’s about helping enterprises sleep peacefully at night knowing their data is protected.”
AI scale-up, cyber expansion and deeper India reach

Over the next few years, Embee plans to scale its Copilot and AI adoption programmes across BFSI, manufacturing, education and services; expand its Cyber Defence Centre to additional regions; and strengthen its presence in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, which Kothari calls “the next digital growth hubs.” The company also expects managed IT and cloud optimisation services to drive steady recurring revenue.
Despite rapid shifts in the technology landscape, Kothari said the company’s mission remains constant, including helping Indian enterprises become secure, AI-ready and future-fit.
