HCLTech, SAP team up to build next-gen Physical AI solutions

HCLTech has entered into a strategic partnership with German software major SAP to advance “Physical AI” solutions—AI systems that interact with and respond to real-world environments. In an exchange filing on Wednesday, the Indian IT services company said the two firms will co-develop next-generation use cases that embed artificial intelligence into physical and industrial operations.
Vijay Guntur, CTO and Head of Ecosystems at HCLTech, said the collaboration marks a step forward in integrating cognitive robotics with enterprise systems. “Through this new collaboration with SAP, we are enabling businesses to transform operations, accelerate innovation and realise measurable value from automation at scale,” he said.
The company highlighted three early focus areas: HCLTech and SAP will build AI-driven extensions for automated warehouse picking and sorting to improve efficiency and accuracy. The companies will also target large-scale fleet optimisation using HCLTech’s multi-agent AI models. A third area will leverage 3D Reality Capture technology to deliver embodied AI applications for advanced spatial analysis and operational insights.

The SAP tie-up comes a day after HCLTech announced a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services to accelerate innovation in the financial services sector. As part of that partnership, HCLTech will roll out a suite of pre-built, regulatory-compliant solutions for modernising contact centres, boosting digital engagement and upgrading core platforms across banking, wealth management and insurance.
