Umiya Buildcon appoints Prabhugouda Biradar as CTO

Bengaluru-headquartered Umiya Buildcon has appointed Prabhugouda Biradar as Chief Technology Officer. In this role, Biradar will guide Umiya’s overall technology direction by strengthening core engineering processes, modernising the product development cycle, and building a capable, future-ready technical organisation. 

His experience will help accelerate innovation across the MRO-TEK product portfolio, which is the company’s Original Equipment Manufacturer for data communication and networking products. With this appointment, Umiya, which operates in the networking and real estate sectors, aims to strengthen its research and development. It will focus on design and Make in India initiatives, including the development of an indigenous Network OS and hardware stack.

Biradar is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience across distributed systems, carrier-grade Network Operating Systems (IP Routing, MPLS-TE, IPv6, Security, SDN/NFV, 4G/5G) and AdTech platforms. He has led the development of five generations of telecom Network OS and taken mission-critical programmes from concept to global deployment. 

A postgraduate in Software Systems from BITS Pilani, he has held senior leadership roles at Philips, Cisco Systems and Huawei, where he served as Vice President for the Network Business Unit and AdTech. He has also mentored early-stage companies in Causal AI and AdTech, contributing to advancements in automation, intelligence, and platform engineering.
