IT services and consulting firm Hexaware Technologies has announced the appointment of Raghu Mocherla as Senior Vice President – Digital & Software, in a bid to strengthen the company's software, AI and physical systems. In his new role, Mocherla will lead Hexaware’s Cyber-Physical Software and Systems portfolio within the company’s Digital & Software (D&S) business unit. He will be responsible for driving strategy, expanding the portfolio, scaling the business, and strengthening client outcomes.

Mocherla brings over 25 years of experience in technology services, with a strong focus on product engineering, R&D and industrial operations. Most recently, he spent more than a decade at Capgemini, where he served as Industry Head and P&L leader for the Engineering and R&D (ER&D) business in the Americas. In this role, he led key industry verticals including industrial manufacturing, automotive, rail, aerospace and defence, and was a member of the ER&D Americas Executive Committee.

The appointment comes as enterprises increasingly embed software, intelligence and connectivity into products and operations, driven by advances in AI and edge computing. Hexaware’s D&S unit is focused on helping clients build and modernise cyber-physical systems, deploy connected AI at the edge, and implement AI-led systems engineering to create an end-to-end digital thread across product development and industrial operations.

“Raghu brings a strong combination of product engineering expertise, industrial domain knowledge and experience in scaling global businesses,” said Sanjay Salunkhe, President and Global Head – Digital & Software Services at Hexaware. “As clients rethink how products, software and operations converge in an AI-first world, his leadership will be key to sharpening our Digital and Software Services strategy and driving the next phase of growth.”

Mocherla said the role presents an opportunity to position Hexaware as a strategic partner across IT, product engineering and manufacturing. “Enterprises are looking for outcomes-driven innovation at the intersection of AI, software and physical systems, and Hexaware is well placed to deliver on that promise,” said Mocherla, who holds degrees in computer science engineering and business management, and will be based in Boston.

Hexaware is on a hiring spree. In October, it appointed Surendra Nemani as Vice President and Head of Cybersecurity, strengthening its focus on secure digital transformation. Nemani brings over 17 years of leadership experience, having held senior security and architecture roles at Flipkart (Walmart Group), Cleartrip and Infosys. Earlier in August, the company appointed Shantanu Baruah, a former HCLTech executive as President & Global Head to lead its healthcare, life sciences, and insurance business.
