Honeywell launches Performance+ for guided work to add real-time data for warehouses

Honeywell has launched a new workforce management product called Performance+ for Guided Work, aimed at improving operations inside warehouses and distribution centers. The system combines voice-directed work tools with analytics to give companies real-time data on frontline activity.

The product builds on Honeywell’s existing guided work technology, which allows warehouse employees to receive instructions and confirm tasks using a hands-free headset. Workers can pick items, pack orders, or perform maintenance while keeping their hands free. The system uses speech recognition that supports more than 48 languages and can interpret different accents and pronunciations.

Performance+ adds a data layer on top of these voice workflows. As employees work, the system captures operational data in real time. This information is made available to managers through dashboards that show task progress, time spent, distance traveled, and other operational metrics. The goal is to reduce reliance on manual reporting and delayed performance reviews.

One use case is incident reporting. Employees can report issues such as equipment problems or safety hazards by speaking into their headset or using predefined templates. Supervisors receive immediate notifications, allowing them to assign resources without stopping ongoing work. The system records incident data as it happens, creating a digital record that can be reviewed later.

The platform also supports task planning and labor allocation. Managers can use live data to assign work based on worker availability and performance. This is intended to help ensure that tasks are matched to the right employees at the right time, especially across multiple sites.

“In today’s supply chain, the lack of real-time data can hinder effective operations, leading to reactive rather than proactive decision-making,” said David Barker, president of Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services. “By capturing data in the moment and empowering employees and leaders with tools that enable them to make adjustments in real time, companies can respond promptly to emerging challenges and can keep their business running optimally.”
