Firstsource buys TeleMedik for $3 mn to expand US healthcare presence

Firstsource Solutions Limited, a global provider of business management services under the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, announced the acquisition of TeleMedik, a Puerto Rico-based healthcare technology firm, for up to $3 million. The deal, executed via its U.S. subsidiary Firstsource Health Plans and Healthcare Services, aims to significantly expand the company's footprint in the U.S. healthcare market.
The acquisition will bolster Firstsource’s end-to-end medical management offerings for health plans, spanning utilisation management, care coordination, clinical intervention and member engagement. It also expands the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group company’s footprint across payer-provider networks in the US, particularly in Puerto Rico, and enhances its Business Process as a Service (BPaaS++) platform for healthcare clients.
The move comes as US health plans grapple with rising utilisation rates, higher costs and a shift towards value-based care models, driving demand for digital solutions that improve care coordination, data integration and operational efficiency.

By integrating its AI-led automation capabilities with TeleMedik’s clinical operations and on-ground presence, Firstsource aims to help payers modernise the medical management lifecycle without significant in-house investments. TeleMedik brings established relationships across payer-provider ecosystems and delivery capabilities across Puerto Rico and parts of the US.
Sanjiv Goenka, chairman of RPSG Group and Firstsource, said the acquisition reinforces the company’s focus on healthcare innovation through intelligent automation and emerging technologies, while expanding its reach and capabilities in the US market.
Joaquín Fernández-Quintero, president and CEO of TeleMedik Group, said joining Firstsource would enable the company to scale its digital-first healthcare solutions by leveraging Firstsource’s global delivery network and technology investments.
Following the acquisition, Firstsource said it expects to deepen access to the US payer-provider ecosystem, improve operational efficiency in utilisation and care management, and enhance support for Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and dual-eligible populations, including Spanish-speaking and underserved communities.

The combined entity will offer integrated clinical review, prior authorisation, care and disease management, population health and telemedicine-enabled interventions through a unified operating model aimed at improving clinical outcomes while reducing administrative costs.
