Kyndryl launches Center of Excellence to drive AI-led SAP transformations

Kyndryl has launched the SAP Transformations Center of Excellence aimed at helping enterprises use agentic AI in large-scale SAP modernization programs. The new center is designed as a collaborative environment where customers work directly with Kyndryl engineers and designers on SAP transformation projects.

The center brings together more than 500 Kyndryl professionals focused on SAP applications, data, and AI. It is built around Kyndryl’s Agentic AI Framework, which is intended to automate and simplify complex SAP transformation tasks, particularly migrations to SAP S/4HANA.

A core focus of the initiative is the use of a Clean Field approach for customers moving from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. This method uses AI agents from Nova Intelligence alongside Kyndryl’s Data Transformation Suite to reduce legacy complexity, address technical debt, and speed up migration timelines. The goal is to deliver SAP environments with minimal custom code and greater readiness for future changes.

For organizations already running SAP S/4HANA, the center supports Clean Core programs that focus on modernizing existing custom code. This work also relies on agentic AI and data-driven tools to reduce manual effort and shorten modernization cycles.

The center also incorporates SAP Business Data Cloud to unify enterprise data across systems. Integrated with Databricks, the platform is used to support AI model training and governance while enabling analytics and automation across SAP landscapes. In addition, Kyndryl provides services aligned with RISE with SAP, including support for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, to help enterprises move SAP workloads to the cloud.

Kyndryl has already applied this approach with an Austrian industrial food company, using AI agents to accelerate its ECC to S/4HANA migration and reach full Clean Core compliance. According to the company, the project reduced time and labor requirements while establishing a standardized SAP platform.
