TCS, Google Cloud launch Physical AI Gemini experience hub in Michigan

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its seventh Gemini Experience Centre (GEC) at its Innovation Hub in Troy, Michigan, in partnership with Google Cloud, with a focus on developing Physical AI solutions for the global manufacturing sector.
The new facility is designed to help manufacturers explore, test and scale artificial intelligence-driven industrial applications, particularly in areas such as safety, quality and operational efficiency. The launch comes as enterprises increasingly look to move beyond isolated AI pilots and deploy production-scale systems across operations.
The Troy centre marks a key step in the expansion of TCS’s global Gemini Experience Centre network. By the end of 2026, TCS and Google Cloud plan to operate 13 such centres worldwide, with six additional facilities scheduled to open later this year.

At the new centre, manufacturers will be able to experiment with Physical AI use cases through the TCS Physical AI Blueprint—an end-to-end framework that integrates AI-powered quadruped and humanoid robotics with advanced sensing systems, edge intelligence and secure cloud orchestration to deliver real-time operational insight and autonomous decision support.
Key use cases showcased at the facility include autonomous patrolling and surveillance, environmental anomaly detection, personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance monitoring, intelligent quality inspection, production progress mapping and predictive equipment health monitoring.
By enabling enterprises to test these technologies in simulated industrial environments before deploying them at scale, the center aims to help manufacturers accelerate the transition from AI experimentation to real-world implementation. Companies can evaluate applications such as autonomous factory monitoring, predictive maintenance and safety compliance systems, helping reduce operational risks, improve equipment reliability and enhance production efficiency.

“Physical AI is where intelligence moves to the edge—into the real world of operations,” said Anupam Singhal, president – manufacturing at TCS. “With the launch of our Physical AI Gemini Experience Centre for Manufacturing, we are enabling manufacturers to extend visibility and decision-making into environments that are difficult, risky or inefficient for humans to access.”
Singhal added that the company’s approach incorporates a “human-in-the-loop” model, where AI-enabled robotics work alongside employees to strengthen safety and operational resilience.
Saurabh Tiwary, vice-president and general manager, Cloud AI at Google Cloud, said the collaboration aims to accelerate the adoption of agentic AI in industrial operations. “Through the new Physical AI Gemini Experience Centre, we are equipping global manufacturers with the intelligence to build more autonomous, resilient and data-driven enterprises,” he said.

The Troy centre also strengthens TCS’ global innovation network and aligns with its strategy of working closely with hyperscale cloud providers to help enterprises adopt next-generation AI technologies.
With the launch, TCS now operates Gemini Experience Centers in six locations, including Bengaluru, New York, Chennai, Riyadh, Singapore and São Paulo. These facilities are part of the company’s TCS Pace innovation ecosystem, which connects startups, universities and enterprise customers to accelerate the development and adoption of emerging technologies.
TCS recently expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to broaden enterprise access to Gemini Enterprise tools and enable its teams to develop custom AI agents and integrate Google Cloud and third-party agents to drive efficiency and innovation for clients.
